It’s been one of those work weeks. Been running circles around myself and working without a break. So today I just shut down my laptop and went in search of a mindless movie. Stumbled on to this one

I started watching it thinking I would watch for half hr. and then go-to sleep. Instead I watched the entire 2 hr. movie and came out refreshed.

What a charmer this movie was. A simple story, completely filled with positive vibes. Set in a time when women were not allowed to attend weddings apparently. Then this new daughter in law, who is educated and smart, decides to become a rebel leader with a mission to ensuring women form a part of the wedding party. Beautifully told, this is mushy tale. It is actually pretty fun to watch the machinations of these women and how they manipulate a village full of patriarchal men. It had me laughing and cheering and finally celebrating with these women.

This movie is a mood lifter. Watch it when you need a pick me up. Or if you are already in a good mood, go fly high with this one. Don’t take it too seriously and come prepared to relax.

Highly recommend it.

BTW I don’t understand a word of Punjabi and had no issue keeping up with this story.
