I don’t like Sci-Fi movies. Don’t judge me for it — But I am not a fan of #StarWars, dislike #Marvel, #Terminators, and all in their ilk, not a fan of movies with endless violence, and the last fantasy movie I loved was Deathly Hallows!
I am, however, a fan of Mythology or history as long as they don’t distort it beyond recognition.
I went to the movie today convinced I am going to hate it.
Yet, here we are……
The movie is a blend of sci-fi and Indian mythology. It starts at the end of the Kurukshetra war when Ashwatthama invokes the Brahmastra to destroy the clan of Pandavas. Krishna (8th Avatar of Vishnu) thwarts his plans and curses him with immortality (death offers the soul salvation, so living forever is a curse). When Ashwatthama asks how he could be released from this curse, Krishna tells him that this Yuga (epoch) would come to an end soon, and Kali-yuga — Yuga of deprivation would start. When the universe sinks to the lowest…
