Are you struggling with getting back to real life after a 4 day long weekend? For the last 2 days I have felt like stabbing at least half a dozen people who committed the crime of wishing me good morning/afternoon.

I needed a feel good movie that would somehow get me to enjoy my routines again. And this wonderful, heartwarming biopic of a man who invented a machine (ASU) that changed the lives of the weavers in Telangana, delivered what was needed and so much more.

C.Mallesham, a son of Pochampalli weavers, had to drop out of school in 6th grade. He put himself through distance learning and passed 10th grade in his 3rd attempt. His weakest subject was English. He loved Math and science and building with his hands. He saw the way the women in his village suffered from aches and pains caused by the weaving motion and wanted to do something to help them. With nothing and almost no one to support him, he built his first prototype and then made enough machines to pull his community out of debt and bring back the wonderful Pochampalli (itkal of telangana) weave. For his efforts he was awarded the Padma Shri.
